1. About us and these terms
- Canine Beauty is the trading name of Canine Beauty Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14888099). Our registered office and salon is at 23 Baker Street, Weybridge, KT13 8AE.
- By booking an appointment with us, you (the owner or authorised agent) agree to the following terms and conditions. These are in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your pet, yourself, and our staff.
2. Health, welfare and vaccinations
- Owners must inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, injuries, behavioural issues, or aggressive tendencies.
- All dogs must be fully up to date with their vaccinations. Puppies must have completed their full course of vaccinations before their first groom.
- If your pet is found to have fleas, a flea treatment charge (from £50) will apply and you may be asked to collect your dog.
- Please ensure your dog has been to the toilet before the groom so they are comfortable throughout.
- We will cut nails as close to the quick as possible but will not go shorter than is necessary.
3. Older, very young or unwell dogs
- Grooming can be more tiring or stressful for elderly, very young or unwell dogs. We take extra care, give breaks when they are needed, and may stop the groom early if we feel it is in your dog’s best interest.
- By booking, you accept that grooming may occasionally aggravate an existing health condition, and that we are not responsible for this unless it is caused by our negligence.
4. Matted coats
- If your dog is excessively matted, we may need to clip the coat short in line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
- Removing matting can reveal skin irritation, redness or sores that were hidden underneath, and some dogs may scratch or feel unusual for a few days afterwards.
- De-matting takes extra time, and an additional charge may apply. We will always talk this through with you first.
5. Aggressive or difficult dogs
- We reserve the right to refuse or stop grooming if a dog becomes aggressive or too stressed, for the safety of staff and the animal.
- A handling fee may apply for dogs requiring extra time or additional staff to manage safely.
6. Cancellations, rearranging and late arrivals
- Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.
- Appointments cancelled or rearranged with less than 48 hours’ notice, and missed appointments, will incur a fee of 50% of the appointment cost.
- Late arrivals (over 15 minutes) will result in a £20 charge, and are liable to being cancelled.
7. Pricing and payment
- All prices are subject to change based on coat condition and behaviour.
- Payment is due on collection (cash or card). Late payment may incur fees or refusal of future bookings.
8. Collection
Dogs must be collected promptly at the agreed time. Late collection will result in a £20 charge.
9. Accidents, illness and veterinary treatment
- We take every precaution to ensure your dog’s safety and comfort during grooming. However, grooming equipment is sharp, and pets may move unexpectedly, so accidents can happen.
- In the event of an accident, or if your dog becomes unwell while in our care, we will contact you immediately.
- If we cannot reach you, we will act in the best interests of your dog and may seek veterinary treatment on your behalf.
- You are responsible for all veterinary costs incurred, including emergency treatment and any follow-up care, unless the injury was caused by our negligence.
- We will not accept liability for pre-existing conditions, underlying health issues, or conditions arising after the groom that are not caused directly by our negligence.
10. Photographs and media
- We may take photographs of your dog before/after grooming for use on social media or promotional materials.
- Please let us know if you do not consent to this.
11. Your information
- Your information is kept securely. We only share it with the services that help us run our bookings and contact you (such as our online booking system), or where required by law. We will never sell your information.
- Our privacy policy explains this in more detail.
12. Your legal rights and changes to these terms
- Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
- We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
